OUR WHY

What is Boujee and Blessed?

It's about walking in confidence.

It's about empowering one another.

It's about not lowering your standards.

It's about recognizing your worth.

It's about showing up for yourself.

It's being unapologetic of your lifestyle.

It's living life with a purpose.

It's about living in luxury but knowing where our blessings come from.

I am Boujee and Blessed,

Are you?

Boujee and Blessed was created for the woman and men in mind who need a reminder that you have a purpose in this life. We all have insecurities and obstacles but sometimes we have to remind ourselves of who we are and who's we are. I was over and done with living a mediocre life and thinking that I was not good enough. This was also created to show off what God has done in my life. Because at the end of the day, yes, we can have all the luxury and wealth in this life, but God is the one who provides it all. Therefore, I am Boujee and Blessed.

BEHIND BOUJEE & BLESSED

Say Hello to the Owner of Boujee & Blessed!

Deborah Deleon is a wife, teacher, dancer and now a business owner.

Hey everyone! If you are reading this, thank you so much for being here. I never thought I would be starting my own business and doing a whole website but here I am. So this is the part where I talk about myself right? Got it. Lol

I was born and raised in Houston, Texas baby but my parents are from El Salvador. That makes me Salvadorian. So yes this means I love all things pupusas and pan dulce, all of it! The sacrifice of my grandparents has led us here and I am so thankful. I grew up in a Christian home but I really didn't develop a relationship with Jesus until I was a teenager. I don't have a come to "Jesus moment" type of story, but I have seen God move in my life countless of times.

God has also given me the gift of dancing. I have been dancing for as long as I can remember. My mom was my first dance teacher. I started off doing tambourines, praise dance and even mimes. Once I got to middle school, I trained and my passion for dance grew more and more. My favorite styles currently are Hip-hop, Contemporary, and Latin dance. My dance experiences have allowed me to do many things like dance at the Stellar Awards, Miller Outdoor Theatre, and be in many shows and now I am teaching dance. Right after graduating the University of Houston in Downtown, I was able to live a dream of teaching students what I love.

Meanwhile I was in college, I met my husband through a dance company back in the summer of 2014. He was their artist in residence and I was so impressed with this talent. We dated, we got engaged, and in 2017 we got married. Being married to a creative has been the best blessing because we get to bounce off ideas of each other and just create. We use the hashtag #TheArtistandtheDancer often because well it's pretty cool. Mark does murals, custom paintings, live painting, and so much more. He is an entrepreneur and his example inspires me. Marriage has really pushed me in ways that I did not realize I needed work in. But again, God has shown up in our marriage as well.

Fast forward to 2020. March through July were a blur. Our life was interrupted with the pandemic. On August 31, of 2020, my father passed away. We have never experienced a loss in our family. This had always been a fear of mine. Through this time, our faith in Jesus has pulled us through. What I want to mention is this. In July, before the chaos, I visited my dad and mom. I told them about starting a business. I remember telling them about Boujee and Blessed. I showed them the designs that Mark had done for me and I told them what I would sell. They were so happy for me. These were the beginning stages of this business but then...he was gone. Ever since, I have been working and investing to make this a reality. I feel like I have made a promise to my dad that I was going to do this. So I couldn't give this up. I wanted to be a woman of my word. So here we are launching Boujee and Blessed.

Thank you once again for being here and I hope that you take this journey with me. A journey of purpose, grief, and a life that glorifies God.
